Designing Compelling Medical Games” is a workshop about the design process. Think of a “cooking school” where the secrets behind each dish (the game) are learned, versus a “cooking class” where the chef demonstrates how to prepare the dish. We will focus on the “why” more than the “how”, a nd participants will have the opportunity to experiment as they create their own compelling game!

Speaker Profile

Bryan Bergeron, MD

Bryan Bergeron, MD has been involved in modeling and simulation for over 20 years, and is the author of a dozen commercial software packages, including several of first patient simulators for consumers and medical students/physicians.  He is a fellow of the American College of Medical Informatics, founding editor of e.MD, on the boards of several informatics journals, and author of several hundred articles and 20 books, including a soon-to-be-released "Developing Serious Games".  He teaches in the HST division of Harvard Medical School and MIT, and practices medical informatics at Mass General Hospital. He is the PI on a TATRC project to develop a multimedia nuclear, biological, and chemical collaboratory, which includes simulation-based game technology. www.archetypetech.com
