Designing Compelling Medical Games” is a workshop about the design process. Think of a “cooking school” where the secrets behind each dish (the game) are learned, versus a “cooking class” where the chef demonstrates how to prepare the dish. We will focus on the “why” more than the “how”, a nd participants will have the opportunity to experiment as they create their own compelling game!

Speaker Profile

Matt Kauffman

Matt Kaufman has more than 10 years of technical leadership experience in the software and aerospace industries. At Forterra Systems, he is Vice President for Product Development and is responsible for product definition and helping organizations leverage virtual environments to solve their unique requirements. Prior to joining Forterra, he led product development for RealNames corporation, an internet navigation and search company. Matt began his career in the aerospace industry working for Lockheed Martin, UMDC, and Scitor. His work was concentrated in three areas: optimal missile design, integrated systems simulation, and satellite command systems. Matt's work is still an important part of Lockheed Martin's simulation of missile defense systems.

Matt received his BS from UC- Davis Mechanical and Aeronautical Engineering and his MS from Virginia Tech in Aerospace Enginnering.
