2/9/07 Game-based Learning The presenters used the Virtual Hospital as a framework to link the many activities of Simulation and Game-based learning.  
 
 
10/18/06 Panel on Simulation & Game-based Learning in Medicine This virtual workshop was an experiment in community discussion! The purpose was to identify research necessary to create and evaluate learning environments based on simulations and games. The workshop format combined presentations by experts, followed by a facilitated open discussion via the Internet.  
 
 
8/28-8/30/06 Prototyping of Surgical Simulators using Open Source Simulation Software This workshop was a unique forum in which we learned and shared with experienced modelers and surgeons, left with new product ideas, and . . . plan to continue as an ongoing interactive community!  
 
 
8/24-8/25/06 Designing Case-based Learning for Virtual Worlds The SUMMIT research team and the gaming professionals from Forterra Systems, Inc. explored the future of online learning, using the power of MORGs or multiplayer online role-playing games.

10/7-10/8/05 Designing Compelling Medical Games Successful game designers demonstrated and dissected games, explaining their design decisions and strategies. Participants adopted these processes for their own applications.
